I’m sure that many of you have been following the current swine flu outbreak with concern and interest.

There are currently 64 confirmed cases in the US with the highest concentration in NY City.

If you are in personal contact with people that have been in one of the areas that the flu is known to be present be aware of their health condition.

As we discussed in the last membership meeting this is a good time to be sure your personal emergency kit is ready.

To put this in perspective during the usual US flu season there are normally over 36000 deaths.

Note that your best defense against this flu and any other contagion in good personal hygiene practices.

-          Hand Washing

-          Maintain 3 – 6’ personal space if you are in a public space.

-          Use hand sanitizer on a REGULAR basis.

I have been updating the PPARES website with many pertinent links covering this swine flu outbreak.
